why still the old systemd version 210?

Hi,
is there a reason why tumbleweed uses systemd ver 210? Is not it the current version 218 or so?
I just ask because i thought that tumbleweed is more focused on the newer versions of their packages and systemd 210 seems to be pretty old.

Are the technical or other reasons for that? i am just interested.

openSUSE’s systemd 210 package contains over 500(!) patches, most of them backports from newer systemd versions, but also some openSUSE adaptions.

It’s a lot of work to update it therefore, without introducing regressions.

That said, AFAIK work is underway to update it to 218 at the moment:

But of course this still needs a lot of testing.

Good to know that, thanks for your answer.

Btw, systemd-218 has been accepted to Base:System (the devel project) today, and is on its way to Factory/Tumbleweed:

Of course it has to pass all tests before it will appear in Tumbleweed, this will also be a “stress-test” for openQA…

Btw, it’s probably going to be updated to 219 soon as well, which apparently will be released today…
