Hi! I have installed Spring engine, and it works well in the beginning of the game, but as the game progresses, it becomes unplayable. I have 99% CPU load when others have only 17-20% and even mouse stops moving after all. I have reduced max particles number to only 100 but this does not help.
I have desktop Core 2 Duo 2Gb RAM and OpenSUSE 11.2 64-bit.
First of all we need a lot more information.
Do you use KDE or GNOME?
Do you have desktop effects enabled?
Which video card do you have? And which driver do you use for it?
Could you post the output when you run the game?
Are you running it fullscreen?
Does this happen with other games?
Sometimes adding your user to the video and game group helps.
To do go to Yast->Security And Users->User and Group Management.
Select your user and click on edit. Go to the tab “details”.
On the right you’ll see a list with “Additional Groups”.
Select the games and video group and click OK.
I assume you hadn’t had time to do this.
But don’t forget it!

Neither helped

It’s the same for me, I’m on openSuse 11.1 with an GeForce 8800GT using the NVidia drivers. It used to work just fine in the past, but went slow at some point.
