Why I am not able to report a bug

Hello,

I am not able to report any bug. Also each time I get the following warning:

This is what I get every time!

I followed both the options of this unnecessary warning (this e-mail is already registered)!! And I never get (in my e-mail) any validation code! This is truly amazing! I am also not able to report the issue. Is Novel facing some server issue(s) these days?

This happen even when I am already logged-in…Recently I changed my account e-mail also. But that seems no issue because I am able to log-in to the forums. From now onwards, I believe, Novel uses only one username for any log-in related with it.

Please let me know the way to resolve this issue.

Thanks.

I think what is happening, is that a confirmation email has been sent at some time, with a link for you to click on to confirm. And apparently, you do not get that email. The message is complaining that you have not confirmed.

I’m just a forum user, so unable to help. When I had a similar problem with a different forum, I changed to a different email address (with different mail provider, different blocking rules). But changing email address is not easy here.

See this, perhaps:

or this:

And probably more.

Changing e-mail here needs a request e-mail to the admin (the especial feature of this forum, but not an issue). But what amazes me is that the invalid message depiction of a confirmed e-mail address, especially when trying to report a bug!

Did you check your spam folder? Sometimes messages like this end up
there on gmail for some reason.

My ISP eats some mails without placing them on the spam folder and without telling me.

I happen to know that the OP’s not using their ISP’s e-mail providing,
and my suggestion is based on the e-mail provider he is using.

The spam folder is empty. I am using Gmail (ISP).

Yep, I saw your mail provider was Google - no reason the verification e-
mail shouldn’t come through (I use a gmail account myself and verified
some time ago). It could be that something’s not working properly - I’ll
see if I can have someone check.

Ok. By that time, can you please report the bug for slow speed of aria2c?

I’ve not experienced that issue myself, so I’m probably not the best
person to report it, since I can’t answer any questions that come up with
it.

Given that we’re in the lead-up to New Year’s, it’s unlikely anyone would
look at it until after the first of the year, so when the issue is
sorted, just report it then.

I just went through the process of re-validating my e-mail account (using
my gmail address) and it worked. The thing that might be happening is
that after you click “Validate Email” in the left nav, you must click
“Request Code” for it to send the code and link.

If you don’t do that, you won’t get the e-mail, because that doesn’t send
it.

Well, I did that but since you are saying with some emphasis, I would do it again! Apart from it, since I was not able to report to the bug, I didn’t see any option left except to request someone here to report the same. But since if one has not experienced that, it is better I would report, but I really cannot guarantee “when”! But this is amazing and why it happened is yet another thing to be thought! Because such minors issues should not get generated when we talk of a sober distribution like openSUSE which is well tested in every aspect before getting launched. Though I understand that its not a big issue, but why minor also?

Well, its new year and I wish everyone a happy new year.

And did it work? I got my response nearly immediately, so you should
have as well. We’re both using gmail addresses. Are you certain that
the e-mail address is spelled correctly in the profile?

Anyone who is experiencing it is certainly welcome to report it. But
failing that, having someone act as a go-between is an inefficient use of
everyone’s time.

And to you.

Well it should but I am again not taking the risk to check this because this is the e-mail I wanted to retain and if anything goes wrong…again I have to do all that…! But when I would be changing I would try that…though I guess it should work as you say. May be, the issue might have been resolved.

I meant “did you receive the verification e-mail”? Just sending it again
won’t cause any additional problems.

Actually no. I didn’t get!

Did you try resending it? Remember that there’s a button you need to
click to actually tell it to send - just going to the page isn’t
sufficient (it’s a little less intuitive than I thought, because I
thought it had sent when I hadn’t actually told it to yet).

I guess it didn’t work for me. I hope to try it again after some time… Confused with it…
