this is driving me nuts i have download openSUSE and can’t get it to mount on my hard drive i try and try but it sill won’t stay on the hard drive. :shame:

i like what i see on this os but can’t use it …

oh the PC im trying to put this os on is a hp m8530f a very good PC at that but i want to use this openSUSE

some one “HELP”

When you say “can’t get it to mount on my hard drive i try and try but it sill won’t stay on the hard drive” what does that mean? Does it install, but not boot? To install SuSE there has to be enough space on your hard drive to be installed. SuSE can shrink a Windows partition and make room for its self if you allow it and if the Windows partition is not full. Give us more details about your hard drive. What is installed on it now, what is the hard drive size, how much space is free and so forth. When the SuSE install fails, can you still boot into Windows after the failure? What version of openSUSE are you trying to install?

Thank You,

Are you installing or just running a CD?

to answer your “why question” (why won’t it work) i can only guess
(until you provide some details of what you mean)…MAYBE you have a
corrupted install disk…

  1. did you get your install image from
    http://software.opensuse.org/112/en ? (then where?)
  2. did you check the md5sum of the downloaded iso?
  3. burn the disk as slow as you can?
  4. use good media?
  5. do this http://tinyurl.com/yajm2aq before install attempt?

if you answered “no” (or “don’t know”) to any of those then see the
