I thought Samba shares were handled through the LAN?
But when my internet dies, like I can’t access Google, why do my LAN samba shares no longer work?
What info can I post to make this more useful to debug?
As soon as the internet is back up, samba shares are ‘online’ again…
I’m using openSUSE 12.1
Next time the internet dies, run these commands:
service nmb status; service smb status; service network status; ifconfig; iwconfig
Thanks! I’ll do that next time it happens.
It’s a satellite connection so this is frequent.
Last night there was a heavy drop of snow so the satt signal got dropped for most of the evening.
