How good is the virtualization tools that come with opensuse 11 compare to virtualbox or vmware? Which one is recommanded?
I recommend you to use VMware.
Just my opinion.
Any particular reasons?

I can see using VMware because of the breadth of gui-based
tools to monitor and manage your virtual guests. Make it easy
to allocate resources (provisioning), monitoring usage, dynamic
moves across ESX servers, etc.
BUT… THAT VMware is terribly expensive. There is the free iESX
or whatever it is called, but once you go there, then you probably
should look at kvm at least. I think Xen is going to go away
eventually.
yes, VMware is quite expensive =
vmware server Download VMware Server, free VMware, virtual server - VMware is free and works just fine.
Yeah, VMWare is free, if you can find it on the site. I used to be a big VMWare fan, but lately I’ve found that Sun’s VirtualBox works really great. There’s even a site for pre-built VBox images, that I posted about here:

Yes… but as I stated, the free product IS NOT like the non free
product.
“Works just fine”… translation… as long as you don’t run a lot
of guests and don’t need many advanced features.
