Which version Nvidia available for 11.1b2?

Is worth trying again with 11.1b2 now?

I do not care about 3D support, but with 11.0, all I managed was a 800x600 resolution (neither with the Nvidia binray driver nor without), which is not acceptable.

I have an Nvidia fx770m chip inside my Dell M4400.

According to the Nvidia Forum, I need at least v177.76 of their driver. So which version of the Nvidia driver is provided for 11.b2? The link to distrowatch provided only has “–” in the Nvidia line. Thanks for any advice! :question:

Hi
You would need to use the proprietary driver 177.80 from the Nvidia
download;
Nvidia Unix Driver
and download the kernel source etc to install rather than the
repository.

Thanks!

However, I am puzzled, since for my current Machine with ATI graphics, the repositories added by the 1-click install always made the latest driver available.

So is this different for the Nvidia drivers available from the community repositories then?

Hi
I think they are the same except they are the modules built against the
current kernel so the user doesn’t have to have build tools and
kernel source installed.
