which tool for USB reverse-engineering ?

I have just bought a robot, to learn how to develop basic USB driver for Linux, in C++ :

USB reverse-engineering should not be to complicated here (turn right, turn left…). But I would like not to use a proprietary USB sniffing software under Windows (and trial most of the time). So :

  • using wine, is it possible (I don’t think) ?

  • Under Windows do you know a free tool for USB sniffing ?

    • Is VirtualBox USB layer functional with OpenSUSE (host) + Windows (guest) for this usage ?

ISTR that VMware (and maybe VirtualBox) have debugging tools available
for their USB connections.

It has been for a while. You need the free extension pack.
