I am going to switch from ubuntu to this. But before I download it, what desktop is better? KDE or GNOME? I was thinking of KDE because I saw it on google images, but I have never used it. Which one looks more elegant?
What do you mean by elegant referring to a DE? In other words beauty is in th …
Just install both and switch from one to the other for a few weeks and then decide. lol!
Edit: you did not make much effort to search through this forum to find the many times this is asked before, did you?
Edit 2: Nevertheless, WELCOME to this Forum and enjoy all the desktops available.
Many thousands of years ago some people who lived on the north coast of the Mediterranean said “In matters of taste there is no dispute”. Of course the OS decisions then, were different to those today but the underlying principle holds true.
That said my advice is when changing distro stay with the flavour you know. Changing too much at once can lead to confusion ad disappointment. D/L the DVD and then install both KDE and Gnome. Me I tried Gnome, I keep trying gnome but I just don’t like it as much as KDE.
