I just installed Rhythmbox and the gstreamer fluendo package for mp3 support.
But i am confused which package I should install to have AAC support.
I am running OpenSuSE 11.3 64bits with LXDE

To be honest, I was quite reluctant to install all these “poor”, “bad” and “ugky” packages without knowing/understanding what they mean… Is there any concern for the stability of the system?

We just updated those to make them work better.
I couldn’t tell you exactly which packages AAC support required, but starting from an openSUSE-only system, I added the Packman repository and began to change packages to use the Packman repository (from the openSUSE OSS and Update repositories).
I eventually found success after updating the libavcodec56 package. In addition, I had already upgraded these other packages:
I hope to narrow this list to discover exactly which package set will provide AAC decoding.
