Hi; I’m trying a dual boot install of Windows XP SP3 and OpenSuSE 11 on an Intel D875PBZ motherboard… The OLD Win XP uses the onboard hardware RAID chip in a RAID 0 as 2x 80GB SATA 1 Barracudas. So I installed System Commannder and discovered it doesn’t work with the RAID… gives a blank black screen…
After many layers of failure I wiped out everything, both disks, and finally got partitioned manually. YAST only sees one SATA disk.
Ideas anyone?
Perhaps try using Parted Magic or Gparted live disks to ensure it’s not a hardware issue, or a compatibility issue with Linux. The thing about raid controllers on motherboards is that it’s not quite the same as an actual raid card. Find out what chipset you have–some are better supported than others.
