Whereis sssd?

I’ve been using LDAP authentication for a while running the ldap server from
an openSUSE 11.3 box.

I’m migrating to 11.4 and I’m getting problems.

One box I managed to upgrade (zypper dup) from 11.3 to 11.4 is fine but a
complete re-install on a couple of other machines brings up a message from
YaST that package sssd needs to be installed.

I’ve got the standard openSUSE, update, packman, KDE4.7 and videolan repos
set up but I can’t find sssd on the standard repos, tho’ I can find a
version via pbone.net.

Surely if YaST requires it it should be in one of the standard repos or am I
missing someting?

Perhaps you should post your repo list. As from what I read it sounds potentially messy

zypper lr -d

sssd is in OSS repo

No need - I found the problem.

I’ve got the install DVD as the OSS repo and sssd isn’t on it but it IS in
the online version of the OSS repo.

Just needed to add the online OSS and non-OSS repos as priority 99 and
everything is fine. Bandwidth costs so I was trying to keep the repos local.

The real question is WHY it’s not on the install DVD!

I’d assumed that the install DVD would be the same as the install repo -
silly me!
