Where to go for Canon printer support?

I have an MG6120 and downloaded the community 6100 series driver. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to work very well. Parts of the page weren’t printed and it’s not obvious to me why (the printer is new, so it’s not clogged heads, which I would otherwise be suspecting) I don’t know where to go for support for this driver. Where does one habitually go?

Poor support generally for Canon
If it’s not in Yast list
Or you can’t configure via CUPS:

Canon support
Canon Singapore - Support & Downloads

Canon Linux support is a bit ‘hit and miss’ with different models. However, from this Ubuntu thread, dealing with the same model, it appears the the driver for the MG6140 model may be ok. The Canon Europe site has a driver for MG6140 model

PIXMA MG6140

You’ll need to download the MG6100series-printer_driver.tar package, then extract the RPM’s (32-bit or 64-bit) contained within, and install with the package manager.

Post again if you need further advice.

I bought the drivers from TurboPrint.

Actually, it’s starting to look like it isn’t a problem of the driver but of that supremely annoying menace to society: The GIMP. I’ll bet it’s that layer **** doing that.

I am wondering why MapQuest print outs seem to misjudge the length of pages, though.
