GMPC 11.8.x is available even for Debian testing. But not for openSUSE. Very strange situation, when “new” versions of GMPC appears in repos nearly every day, but they are all old. Where is a maintainer of the best musical player? >:(

your forum profile says you are running Tumbleweed, which means you
have the latest stable version of everything released with/for openSUSE…
if that is not fast enough for you perhaps you could compile and install
those new versions as they are released from source…
or, maybe you would like be the ‘maintainer’ here? >:(
