How do you go about making a request for a software build? Where is that done? I would like to have the latest Azureus installed as the current one says it needs to be updated every time I go to use it even though I supposedly have updated it.
Please don’t tell me to drop a file in someplace. I have already given up on that as it doesn’t work here.
Vuze (formerly) Azureus provides a bittorrent protocol implementation using java language. It offers multiple torrent downloads, queuing/priority systems (on torrents and files), start/stop seeding options and instant access to numerous pieces of information about your torrents.
I don’t use Azureus myself any more (its memory and resource footprint requirements were simply too excessive for me) and I use lighter weight bittorrent clients. But I hope that simple research re: the Azureus points you in the right direction.
I am aware of the name change and I searched under Vuze Software.openSUSE.org there and and in the packman repos. It is not the latest version in the packman repos for 64X 11.1. The version I installed from the packman repo I “updated” via the method Vuze/Azureus uses. That doesn’t update it and I keep getting asked to update it every time I start Vuze.
So I am trying to find out how/were to put in a request on how to get a package built.

I fixed my problem which was with my ./azureus folder which had old data from a previous distro in it causing my version of Azureus to report the wrong version.
Well it seems Vuze has a problem if you choose the “Classic” interface and get rid of all that stupid bloat it keeps telling you to update to the latest version and keeps looping if you do and restat. Even though you are running the latest version. When you look at the “about Vuze” info it says you are running 4.1.0.4 not the actual version installed which is 4.2.0.3
As I do lots of torrents I am used to this interface and Ktorrent is a very poor substitute. I may look into running utorrent under Wine.
Have you tried completely uninstalling and re-installing…
I know you don’t want to hear it, but being just a java app many people use it from the official site. Perhaps post a thread with your problems using it from the site I’m sure someone can help.
