For the last 4-5 days downloading TW snapshots has been rather slow as there don’t appear to be any mirrors at the moment.

I am very sorry, but no mirror was found. Feel free to download directly:
Hi
I see a few here…
http://mirrors.opensuse.org/list/factory.html
United Kingdom Centre for Scientific Computing, University of Warwick HTTP FTP rsync ****
United Kingdom Rackspace Hosting, Inc. HTTP ***
United Kingdom RM Education HTTP FTP rsync ***
United Kingdom University Of Kent - UK Mirror Service HTTP FTP rsync ***
United Kingdom University of Oxford HTTP FTP ***
This one is up to date…
http://anorien.csc.warwick.ac.uk/mirrors/download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/repo/oss/
Thanks… that’s the server zypper normally automagically uses.
but at the moment the automagic seems broken and if I look directly at “download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed”
for example " http://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/repo/oss/suse/x86_64/dolphin-17.04.2-1.2.x86_64.rpm.mirrorlist "
returns the “I am very sorry, but no mirror was found. Feel free to download directly:” message
Now I’ve failed dismally here
Despite having looked at:
and
https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Zypper_manual_(plain)
I’m missing the obvious!
How do I instruct zypper to do a “zypper dup” from a specified server?
If Mirrorbrain suffers from something, I wouldn’t. I’ll check the Factory ML and post there

Hi
Only if it’s added…
zypper ar -f -g -n "Alternative Main Repository (OSS)" http://anorien.csc.warwick.ac.uk/mirrors/download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/repo/oss/ warwick.ac.uk-oss
zypper ref
zypper dup -r warwick.ac.uk-oss

For the moment, as 0710 is quite a small update I’ve let it download directly from http://download.opensuse.org/tumbleweed/… albeit at around only 120-200 KiB/s as opposed to the 5-6 GiB/s normally achieved from the UK mirror.
@malcolmlewis
Many thanks! I’ve made a note of that for future reference.
@Knurpht
OK, thanks also! Curious though, what’s your rationale for not specifying a particular server?
