Wow!
Thanks kgroneman, interesting stats.
Yes, very interesting - they really confirm the almost worldwide appeal of openSUSE.

Interesting Indeed: ‘India’!
Ouch! why is Linus Torvalds home ‘helsinki finland’ with so low numbers!!!
JMHO : The finish must be using another distro.
This is great info! I’ve often wondered what the European-American comparison was!
Do these stats show the percentage of users or the percentage of posts? It makes a huge difference.

I’m curious. Do you get this information just from forum logins? I ask
because the logins/pass are managed by Novell, so perhaps some are only for
other parts of the infrastructure and not the forum. How do you
differentiate them?
And if you can differentiate forum from the rest, can you also count nntp
users?

Thanks Kim, great, these stats. Could you give some insight in how they’re made up?
BTW: I’m the one living in “(not set)”

IP addresses can be geolocated. Together with your login session, the webmaster can work out what pages you view on the site.
Potentially the same thing can be done for NNTP, but only if you are reading the primary site, not any sites receiving the fan-out.
These statistics are from Google analytics so it’s just visits to the site, web only.
This says there are 795 people form Turkey, where are the other 794
Assuming that’s visits to the website by logged-in forum users (web interface), it’s interesting as a guide to usage and popularity. Thanks Kim for providing these stats.

For a small country, thats a lot of New Zealand openSUSE forum members
How many? At least two, then.
Yes, that just means the few of us log in many times in a month
Is a New Zealander, just not NZ based
