my OS is openSUSE 11.1 2.6.27.7-9-pae i686
system is openSUSE 11.1 (i586)
:(The following is what I get when I try to install lightscribe:
lightscribe-1.8.15.1-linux-2.6-intel.rpm (could not be installed.)
Details:
subprocess failed. Error:RPM failed: error: Failed dependencies:
libstdc++.so.5 is needed by lightscribe-1.8.15.1-0.i386
libstdc++.so.5(CXXABl_1.2) is needed by lightscribe-1.8.15.1-0.i386
libstdc++.so.5(GLIBCPP_3.2) is needed by lightscribe-1.8.15.1-0.i386
I had gone thru Yast but couldn’t find those files I never thought to look at the dependencies attached to things such as libstdc++33
Thanks for the input, I just now loaded it and will soon find out if lightscribe loads and runs, Thanks alot!
Well! ---- I’ve loaded "libstdc++33 I then loaded “lightscribe-1.8.15.1-linux-2.6-intel.rpm” seemed to go well I then loaded the Lacie program; “4L-1.0-r6.i586.rpm” and it seemed to load fine, however, I have no new application can’t find the lacie program?
As far as your Lacie program is concerned you can do on the command line “rpm -q -l 4L” to find where the files were installed. You may need to make your own start menu entry for launching the program unless you intend to start it from the command line all the time…
Thanks! Thats what I did, went on a hunt and found it in /usr/4L.
Ran the program and it worked perfectly, by the way I had the same problem in openSUSE 10.3 with “lightscribe simple labeler” Any way thanks for the info.
How do I set up a start menu entry? What’s the process? Sorry about beating this bush to death --but! Can’t let it go until I have things set properly.
rotfl!Good Heavens! never new it was there, had never right clicked on the start menu. I now have it in my desktop Folder and it works perfectly. Thanks to every one who responded, not only have I solved my problem but have learned a great deal about openSUSE and how it works and does things, and that’s a good thing.
Software installer, search for ‘libstdc++33’, install libstdc++33, libstdc++33-32bit, libstdc++33-devel, libstdc++33-32bit-devel, and you should be OK. All four, just to make sure you have everything.
