It probably depends on the cell phone; I know in my Blackberry, it would
be kinda difficult to put 2 sim cards in just because the battery goes
over the sim compartment = no space for connecting a second.

Not the ones I’ve seen. They are basically a little electronics in front of 2 SIMs to flip between SIMs on power cycle. So your phone is only working with one SIM at any given time.
Some cellphone providers actually have dual sim functionality built into the system - however this is of course only on their own packages
However for a dual-provider system you’ll need a cellphone that specifically supports this functionality.
Hi I just bought this Hypercard 3g from Dualsim Adapters and Dualsim Phones | 2-phones-in-1. It is amazing, I have tried other cards and this is the first one that really works with 3G in my Samsung Omnia.
