Hi, I just reinstalled openSUSE 11.2 for the first time. I took a backup of my /home first of course and then copied over to my new install whatever I wanted, like mails from Kmail and some other stuff. The only thing I’m missing and can’t seem to find is my contacts from Kontact? Are they included in any of the other apps? 'cause I can’t seem to find anything even related to Contacts in /home/.kde4/share/apps where all the other stuff from Kontacs where. Any advice?

The settings/data are stored in other apps.
Basically Kontact is just a collection of KDE apps.
These apps can be integrated:
- Akregator - Read your favorite feeds
- KAddressBook - Manage your contacts
- KJots - Your ideas organised in a Notebook
- KMail - Mail client
- KNode - Your usenet mail reader
- KNotes - Sticky notes for your Desktop
- KOrganizer - Calendar and scheduling, Journal
- Ktimetracker - Track how much time you spend on various tasks
- Summary - Summary screen in Kontact
And when you look at the site of Kontact you’ll see a how to copy your data/settings.

Thanks, I’ve boiled down my problem now to stupidity and local confusion. The folder structure of my backup was way to similar to the new istallation, and with 3-4 Dolphin windows it got confusing (should have kept it at command line level) now when I’m looking in the right directory I find everything I need. Thanks again.
