Do I need to make a new CD ISO each time there is an upgrade from 11.1 to 11.2, or 11.2 Milestone 6 to 7 smaller increments do I still need to download this upgrade into CD ISO, or simply Update at bottom of screen good enough?
Also, my question is if I want to use opensuse and Win 7, is it better to have opensuse 11.2 or Win 7 as host and the other as guest via VirtualBox?
I need to use PC scanner, PC real time trading software that cannot go into hibernation mode. But also need to use linux software for engineering simulation
It is just what YOU want. 11.2 is still not there, but you MAY try the milestones when you like to do so. And doing so it will doubtless be appreciated when you file bugreports when you find bugs in the milestones. That is what they are for (among other things).
I e.g. am still at 10.3 and will not upgrade to 11.2 (skipping 11.1) when 11.2 is officialy out and the first problems are solve here on the forums. I do not contribute in testing the milestone releases because I like to have a stable system. I try to contribute in other ways to the community.
The milestones are for testing only. 11.2 is not scheduled for release until November. If you want to participate in the testing, use a virtual machine or, better, create a new partition on your hard drive for this purpose or, best, use a spare computer that can be disposed of if things go very bad.
I don’t know about Win 7, but historically MS hasn’t been very friendly about hosting competing systems in Windows. They seem to be changing on this though, at least that’s the perception.
