I am using the Oxygen (glassy black) theme and after updating to 4.2 the
panel is now a gradient blue? The rest of the themed windows are still

Weird. It seems to be an issue with the Oxygen theme…Maybe it’s been
changed on purpose??

Seems to be better with translucency/
I did think oxygen had improved considerably from early days.
No, the panel isn’t gradient blue. Your wallpaper is blue, the panel is transparent.
You might also try to switch to another theme, apply it and then back to oxygen, in case the cache is messed-up, this should solve it.
Get the Perfection plasma theme from kde-look.org,so far this is the best theme I ever seen,better than Oxygen or Elegance.

the panel is blue if you haven’t dekstop effects enabled. otherwise it’s transparent. but there’s an option under “personal settings > advanced > desktop theme details” to customize panel background.

Thanks for the tip. Don’t care for Perfection though.
I’m using the Aya theme for the panel only now. As this is in a VM
desktop effects are not enabled. I’ll have to check out Perfection
on a real box sometime.

You might also try to switch to another theme, apply it and then back to
oxygen, in case the cache is messed-up, this should solve it.
