What's 11.2.m2 got against e's?

11.2.m2 doesn’t think my keyboard has an “e” key. The keyboard is a Logitech
cordless configured automatically as a Microsoft Natural, same as it is on
11.1. Tried configuring as Logitech but it made no difference. Re-booted
into 11.1 and the keyboard is still OK there.

Checkyour keyboard settings in both yast and kde’s settings. Do an upgrade yast or zypper dup

It is a known issue and has been discussed in the factory mailing list

Delete ~/.kde4/share/config/khotkeysrc and relogin to KDE.

I’ve checked my keyboard settings in YAST. I can’t do an upgrade because I
can’t connect to the Internet because I need a keyboard with an “e” to set
up my wireless connection! Catch-22?

Looks like I’ll have to wait to see if it’s fixed in milestone 3.

Isn’t there an on-screen keyboard you can use? I’m not at my openSUSE setup now so I can’t check it, it’s called xvkbd.

Take Care,

Ian

Thanks, that’s fixed it. Now all I have to do is sort my wireless connection
out - but that’s another story.

LOL

Anyway, I think the problem - or related one - has been resolved in
yesterday’s update to M2. I’d had problems with getting incorrect characters
(@ instead of ", for example) which I had to fix after every logoff/on by
changing the keyboard setup in SAX. After installing the updates and
rebooting, the keyboard was still working OK.
