and there are other things that matter, too (for me, that is):
through how many hoops you have to hop to get to the applications or
settings you often need;
how much the distro developers assume to know what you want–or rather
presume–and arrange things in a certain way w/o giving you an easy option
to change the defaults;
how often things break, and how long they remain broken at times;
i don’t have much experience with different repos. got stuck with openSUSE
because i like it & the community. another one i’d consider is debian,
which i had to set up for a remote server implementation. that feels very
good, too.
