What time will 12.1 be released?

I am going to be the designated downloader for our department. Does anyone know what time of day in which time zone it will be released? I am just trying to figure out if I can start the download before going to bed. I have a group that is waiting with baited breath. Since I work for the Networking dept. I would like to prevent a group of folks all initiating their own connections. I have not seen any hour countdowns yet. Thanks.

I don’t know for sure, but my recollection is midnight GMT+1 (in Germany).

I could be recalling incorrectly, though.

Cool! It’ll be out when I get home from work then.

Really looking forward to this one. Gonna get in at the start with 12.1.

So since I am on the East Coast USA (-5:00… or -4:00? I can never remember with these clocks arbitrarily changing forward or back…) that should be 9:00-10:00 AM? I’m bringing my laptop into work and setting up near the wi-fi router (they don’t track that so much)!

Awesome. Thanks. Check here folks.

We are GMT -5 right now on the east coast of the U.S. Current local time in U.S.A. – New York – New York

I live in the Central Time Zone & for me here the release always started 8:00 AM here.

We are using Linux! We have a date converter installed. Look:

[DATE]
cer@Telcontar:~> TZ=“EST” date --date=“Nov 16 14:00 GMT”
Wed Nov 16 09:00:00 EST 2011
[/DATE]

Very cool! I never knew that. :good:

That’s not the only format. For example:

cer@Telcontar:~> date
Wed Nov 16 10:02:40 CET 2011
cer@Telcontar:~> TZ="Asia/Tokyo" date
Wed Nov 16 18:02:56 JST 2011

But:

cer@Telcontar:~> TZ=JST date
Wed Nov 16 09:03:24 JST 2011

which is wrong.

OpenSUSE 12.1 is out !
Some mirrors are already available :
Index of /opensuse/distribution/12.1/
Index of /pub/mirrors/opensuse/distribution/12.1/iso/

Go for the torrents, guys !

Downloading! Now I only wish I’d woken up sooner!

Downloading the DVD Torrent!!!

Can’t wait to install

Burning now, KDE or gnome…that is the question!

Not that anyone is overly concerned, but the answer was KDE. Also, going to use backups and give btrfs a shot…

ARRRGGGHHH!!!

I was going to bring my home laptop into work and use their public wi-fi to download it (and figured since I had all day, I’d download the DVD version too!) BUT I FORGOT IT AT HOME!

So now I am stuck with torrent-less Windows to download it during a meeting later on today (hope it runs long  )

I guess I’ll have to just go for the Live KDE for now, so I can see how it will work on my systems (Intel graphic laptop, and nvidia video desktop… and maybe even my work laptop “after-hours” )
