I have been using Leap and just build a Tumbleweed VM. Typically I use “zypper ref; zypper up” to patch/update within Leap. I could use the same for Tumbleweed but more frequently I got warning like below. So should I use “zypper ref; zypper dup” to patch/update in Tumbleweed or there are other ways?
See here: https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Tumbleweed
That said, these days the updater applets for KDE Plasma5 and GNOME work as well, with some minor exceptions.
Thanks for the link…I will just use dist-upgrade going forward for Tumbleweed.
Regarding the applets under desktop environment, I have LXQt with Tumbleweed.
Well, then ‘zypper dup’ is your friend.
