I’m relatively new to opensuse and so far I love it. But, I am confused as to what tumbleweed is. If I want to add tumbleweed, should i get rid of any repositories? Can / Should I add packman and non-oss repositories?

http://en.opensuse.org/Tumbleweed describes it pretty well. Have a read
over that first and see if that answers your questions.

Thank you for the quick response. I guess my next questions are if I add the tumbleweed repository, should I disable the opensuse oss repository? Is the non-oss repository necessary to add with tumbleweed? Will packman interfere with the tumbleweed repository? If i use tumbleweed, can i still use repositories for 12.2 (i.e. vlc, mozilla)?

According to the page I pointed you at:
How to try Tumbleweed?
- Remove the openSUSE 11.4 (or 12.1 or later) version specific
repositories - use either the one-click-install or execute the commands below as
super user in a terminal to add the Tumbleweed repositories

To my knowledge, you would use the tumbleweed-specific repositories if
they exist. Again, if you reference the page I pointed you at, you
should find your answer.

There’s an article here that goes into the details of arranging the repos to transition from openSUSE 12.x to Tumbleweed: http://forums.opensuse.org/content/55-how-upgrade-opensuse-12-x-tumbleweed.html
Thank you for the quick responses! I understand now what tumbleweed is and both pages are very helpful in the transition! I look forward to using the distribution.
