I added the KDE 4.9 repo but it doesn’t seem that when I do an online update that the 4.9 files are used. I don’t want to trash my system and would really appreciate some advice on how to do this please
Thanks, much appreciated. So it will *only *update KDE apps already installed and not the complete KDESC? If I then want to install kate for instance via YaST it will grab the one from the 4.9 repos?
Once you have followed that guide it should install apps from that repo
If it tried to install the OSS/Updates supplied package, you will likely get a complaint from dependency issues.
You can always re apply the switch at a later time, you will probably do that anyway as kde progresses
FYI: At the moment that repo is due to change for the next kde update. This can sometimes create difficulties for a day or two until the updated packages have populated the servers.
Great, thanks caf4926.
mmmmm, how do I mark it is solved?
No real need to mark solved
But if you go advanced in your post
You can add solved to the title, like I have
