There used to be huge Lizard/gecko/iguana under my name on each post of the form
Now all is see i a ahem a “man” ?
Is it possible to restores the gecko back? i loved it.:’(

While I am not that much interested in such, more or less useless, indications, I agree with you that these are a bit over the top and drawing to much of my attention away from what is important in a post

right, they do not show in nntp, but i can’t get away from mine
showing in the http side without using a complete fake address…as i
did do for about a year and a half, or so (because a mod accused me
of posting to run up a post count)…so, i just switched back to
using an associated address because it seems a pure nntp post is not
resetting something and folks who follow by getting an email notice
don’t get one…
or maybe that has been fixed?

They are too big, they take too much space. I just had a look to see
what you people were talking about.
And if rank is all that important to show, it does not consider openSUSE

There is eerie / creepy similarity to the “man” like figure in the ratings and a “man with covered face who is about to be hanged”. We should at the least remove the white cloth covering the face lol!

I had to do something about mine. I looked like some Tin Pot 3 star general from some crazy land !
I am not angry.They are probably trying to change something which may have an inherent meaning which i am failing to understand as of now. .When i searched for an image, i found that one funny and hence added it to my avatar.
I like your new avatar, but it takes some time to get used to members changing theirs. I normaly see the avatar when I see a post and thus know who is there. I often do not even know the name, just the avatar.
But your avatar is not the subject here IMHO.
Now the scarecrows are gone. probably the geckos will be back

I didn’t even notice. But as long as they are not replaced by the eruption we had, I am fine.
