Based on you asking that question, i must assume that you are not a
long experienced user of openSUSE Linux–correct?
If that is true then let me recommend you NOT fetch Opera from opera.com.
Instead, install Opera using the openSUSE built in installer and
UNinstaler package manager named YaST.
It is simple to use. Just find it in the menu (depending on your
version and desktop, it is probably in ) Menu > System > Yast
Click that, give your root password, search on opera, then find that
in the new list generated on the right, left click the box to place a
check mark in it, hit the “Accept” button and go get some tea. When
you come back Opera will be installed correctly, and its icon will be
in the menu (Menu > Internet > Web Browser > Opera).
There are LOTS of good reasons to do it that way:
-
YaST automatically finds and installs ALL needed software (aka:
dependencies)
-
YaST automatically does it correctly (including placing an icon
where needed)
-
YaST will automatically offer to install security updates that
patch your Opera, as they are available
-
if you get tired of Opera, YaST can be used to as easily DELETE the
program, effortlessly, AND corectly.
Try it. And, the SUSE wiki has about a million pages
on how to
use YaST…
OH! and the same goes for almost everything you might really need.
(That is, do NOT go to mozilla.com for FireFox or Thunderbird, and do
NOT go to sun.com for Java, etc etc etc)
No GUESSING of which is best, ever again:

HINT: If YaST does not have what you need then, give this a try:

and look for the “One click install button”
