What are these Repositories for?

Come across these repositories when looking for packages not included in the standard repo.

Index of /repositories/security/openSUSE_11.3
Index of /repositories/openSUSE:/11.3:/Contrib/standard

Any idea what these repositories are for?

Are they part of the official/maintained by openSUSE repository?

They are part of the Build Service,
You might most likely use the 2nd one

But it’s generally best to use the least possible and we generally recommend just Packman to be added to the default repos.
(Possibly you might have ATI or nVidia too)

Build Service - I’ve read Portal:Build Service - openSUSE but do not quite understand. If you can, appreciate your help to explain a little in simplified way.

When looking for truecrypt and come across this:

Index of /repositories/home:/illuusio/openSUSE_11.1/x86_64

Is this also similar to build service?
Are they “safe” to trust and install?

Typically, yes they are safe.

That is a user build. Where a single individual builds packages and manages them on the build service.

But you realize you earlier quoted 11.3 repos and there 11.1

No.

There are only three (ie, 3) official repos: oss, non-oss, and updates.

Depends. Some “homes” are just the place where its owner tests things, not intended for everybody.
