Good
Although I’m rather more interested in “offline upgrade” (dvd upgrade)
from 13.1 to 42.1 — 13.1 being an Evergreen.

So theoretically it will work by several months after release. Although, it seems like a problem with KDE5 or KDE4, but I use LXDE. Still, I don’t wish to potentially break the system just to try it out.
Which reminds me, will the Leap 42 support LXqt, or will still ship with LXDE?

Most of these questions were hashed out in the devel and project mailing
lists. You might want to read there, rather than have someone duplicate
those discussions here.
On the “official” openSUSE homepage there is a large… Advertise for openSUSE42.1. The same exist on several subpages as well. Today it says… days left but when people click on it they are hitting a page about openSUSE conference Haag May 1-4. It has been so for some time.
How do I know? I have recommend to people to look upon a fresh and interesting project at openSUSE. They will now probably sort me in as… And never look again.
Well Mr chairman, -Richard Brown. Again I have to ask why you spending so much time on reddit about openSUSE and… The official site?
What are your intentions?

Yes, we commented on this perhaps a month ago on one of the mail lists.
I hope that when you are reading this remember that I have a spark in my eye ;). I will at once change strategy and recommend that interested read the mail-list’s instead of homepages.

Being rude - and then saying “but I meant it in jest” isn’t a winning
strategy. You need to remember that in a written medium, people don’t
assume humour when it’s not clearly telegraphed.
So your comment to Richard comes across as extremely rude.
Well Jim. Its not me that seems to have problem. If you find me rude I seriously suggest that you have a look on openSUSE.org Then check on reddit and then you take it up with mr chairman. Humor? I have a lot.

Well, I simply mean that someone noticed the issue and commented on it.
Others confirmed. Then I forgot. Week or two later you see the issue…
so nothing has been done.

Wrong answer, Jonte. Getting into an argument with a staff member who is
explaining to you that you come across as rude and not humourous is not
the approach to take here.

As much as I like the whimsical HG2G reference, I think the reference will be lost to most and people will thinking why
42?
Of course, I expect it’s too late to change, but I believe a much more sensible first version of Leap would be 15.1 for
three reasons:
It honours its openSUSE predecessor heritage by respecting its numbering.
It represents a break (13.2->15) from previous versions albeit with hop' rather than leap’.
It matches the last two digits of the release year (2015), which is ideal for its 12-monthly release cycle.
It’s true that Microsoft Windows versioning has been relevant to reasons #2 (8.2->10) and #3(95 and 98) but religion
aside, this doesn’t make it bad. Of course, I expect my recommendation to be entirely ignored. But I think it would be a
shame to adopt an arbitrary numbering system for reasons unknown to virtually everyone when there’s an opportunity here
for an alterative version numbering that’s so much more meaningful.
