for VirtuaBox, VMWare, Xen, Kvm and other virtual machines related issues … What do you think about the idea?
It’s been mentioned before. I think it’s a good idea, virtualization brings its own set of problems and having a forum focused on that would be productive.
As a new VM user, I would love to see such a forum. Its too bad you can’t use a VM to test out different VM’s to see which one works the best. lol! I have found VirtualBox to work OK and it works OK with the Linux Kernel 3.0 and even with the nVIDIA driver loaded. But I would love to see more discussions about the VM’s and a new Sub-Forum on the subject looks like a very good idea to me please_try_again. I would like to add that I do have an issue with always needing to ask for help just to make an entry in such a forum, as discussions need not start with a request for help in my opinion to fit in a certain forum category.
Thank You,
I believe you coud do that, just like the infinite cat: The Infinite Cat Project. So let’s start the infinite vm project! lol!
Humm, does not seem all that useful as best as I can tell. But let me think more about it. lol!
Thank You,
Well, you can also set a virtual machine (no matter which OS you installed on it) to boot from an iso live CD - so you can test all Linux live CDs with a single virtual machine, but of course, you can create as many virtual machines as you like too.
Yes, we can.

This is how I tested vboxlive on openSUSE 12.1: in a kvm virtual machine running a freeNX server (much faster than VNC). WIth some more ram, I could have installed a nx client in the virtualbox machine (the smallest one) and openend an X connection to my 11.3 system (the largest one on the picture) which runs a nx session to a fresh 12.1 (in the middle) running in kvm on a remote host (which explains why my local conky doesn’t show any kvm process) where I started an openSUSE 12.1 live CD from an iso image stored on a remote server in a VirtualBox that got automatically installed by vboxlive… well, the infinite chameleon.

Wow, this goes beyond being in the Matrix. Its like finding you are in a Matrix that is in another Matrix. You can’t tell what is real anymore when your in deep.
Thank You,
We have a new forum for VM questions that you can find here and its brand new:
Please use it to post any new questions on Virtualizations.
