Opensuse 11.4 continues to be good and bad; In 11.3, KDE could open the passport drive, but in 11.4, it cannot; Gnome has no problems mounting and opening the drive; Most people on here rave about KDE, but other than a better looking desktop, I fail to find pleasure in a DE which cannot do the simple task of opening a file viewer of an external USB drive, something which both Gnome and Windows have zero issues with handling. This is not a 64 bit issue since a 32 bit version also fails to do this but Gnome works fine under both systems.
If it is formated in ntfs, just add ‘ntfs’ in the file /etc/filesystems. It will fix the bug for now.
yes that fixed it, thanks. the forums here are very helpful.
