Because it is blacklisted.
openSUSE:Build Service application blacklist - openSUSE
And we know that if you blacklist something the usual average user will not find it and not use it and not know about it. And we know that the usual average user are the evil users without inhibitions.
Seriously: for what I see the blacklist has been done to make sure that frivolous law suites will not find easy targets.
This will be probably the “official” explanation.
You can easily install it from the source code (as all the others). No?
Edit: there is also a law in Germany that criminalize the “making available of hacker tools”. I would suppose aircrack-n is therefore not to be stored in German repositories. Other countries may have similar legislations (though I doubt it).
Yep the compilation from source is very easy but still installing a package is easier
Thanks for the explanation.

Greg

I sometimes have the idea to drop by to their office and explain them what they are doing to themselves…
But whatever I would say now would go to “doom” the T.O.R.s of the forum… so … good night Martin. I for my part will take some sleep and take care of my sudden headache. :\
You can definitely get it in a package format (from the repos that are accessible from a clean install), you just need to know where to look.
