Well done!

I have to say that changing from XP to openSUSE 11 is one of the best computing decisions I’ve made in years. It’s a bit of a learning curve but I’m enjoying the challenge (since I don’t study anymore).

  • I like YaST (it was confusing at first bit now I use it a lot)
  • SMPlayer works really well
  • My system was mediocre when using XP but now it’s fast with suse
  • Compiz works well and looks great
  • So many free applications!

I’d just thought I should share my appreciation with everyone here. You all offer so much support and advice and I couldn’t have got this far without it!

Cool, Glad you are now comfortable with openSUSE.Now Enjoy

remember that free software allows you to participate…you are free
to hack, translate, talk it up, set up/join user groups etc etc etc…

and, it is even allowed to donate to developers…most have a tip jar
somewhere…check it out…

disclaimer: i’m not developer and i don’t have a tip jar…but, i do
put coins in from time to time…

Good to hear your experience is positive.

It’s certainly not been easy, but I am enjoying the challenge. I’m learning something new every day with linux. When it’s working, it’s working very well!
