Weird Firefox / Chormium behavior in forms plus flash issue

This has already answered.
And I would also say that it probably won’t help, and you shouldn’t do it anyway (security problems…).

Maybe your problem is somehow related to ibus/input methods?
Try to uninstall ibus if it is installed, and logout/login. (you probably cannot remove libibus, but that’s ok)

And as mentioned already as well, try as a different user.
Might be some font setting or addon.

And if not, how can I uninstall it without installing Thunderbird ?

Remove mozilla-kde4-integration as well, this requires a Mozilla product (i.e. Firefox or Thunderbird) installed, so when you remove Firefox, Thunderbird will be installed to satisfy the dependencies.

Hi
I’ve try both steps , add a new user and another version of FF. Nothing .

Uninstall ibus and login / logout, for me as a newbie feels as a lot of problems , what’s going to happen ?
It’s a temporary removal ? Do I loose the login screen ?

Thanks

No, you won’t lose the login screen by uninstalling ibus.
If you get conflicts, better ask first though with the exact message.

ibus is a framework for being able to input certain (mainly asian) characters:

I don’t know whether it might help, but your problem seems to be entering the characters into that text field. And that might be caused by a wrong input method.

Another idea what you could try: select some text from another application and paste it into the input field. Does that work as expected?

Copy and paste doesn’t work either.
Did I mentioned weird behaviour ? Well, this is more like the 5th Dimension.

I can access gmail, twitter, other forums including external forums links from this one.
I can see the quotes box, buttons, etc

I can’t see facebook forms
I can’t see this forum forms

Check this out, this is what I see from my profile:

Is this good or what ?
I’ve clean all cache, cookies, everything …
Don’t know what to do.
If it was a input problem from my System, I guess it would be on every page, not just 2 sites…:sarcastic:

Anyway, if someone as similar issue and found a solution, please let me know. For now I can use chromium and FF all around except in here and FB .

Thanks

Ok, so it is not just a problem with input fields.

Looks to me like a problem with certain fonts then.

Try to remove the user’s fontconfig cache ~/.cache/fontconfig/, but as it is the same with another user, it’s rather a system-wide issue.
So try to re-create the system-wide cache as well:

sudo fonts-config -f

Do you have the Microsoft fonts installed? (package “fetchmsttfonts”)
AFAICS, Firefox uses MS’s Arial font here for those texts.

If no, try to install them. If yes, try to uninstall them.
They might have become corrupted (maybe by an erranous download) or something.

Houston, we don’t have a problem anymore

That was it, I made the fonts-config , but nothing, then I remove the true-type fonts (don’t remember the name) and the result is :

Thanks a lot !

I’m glad you have it working.

I installed true-type fonts back in opensuse 12.2 (or maybe it was 12.1). And I soon regretted it. I’ve avoided that mistake in more recent versions.

Nop, I’ve just install the true-type fonts, changed the system to verdana,
and everything looks ok.
Possibly the copy / paste I did with tahoma and calibri
I’ve also had some google fonts that now I removed.
Anyway all is well

openSuSe 13,1

Excellent.

When I said that I had regretted installing true-type fonts. that was not because of the kind of problems you were having. Rather, it was a matter of some screens looking crappy with the ttfonts installed.
