I apologize in advance if this is the wrong thread but I’ve never used 64-bit linux before so I just assumed it was a 64-bit problem.
Anyway, I’ve used Ubuntu on and off for about 3-4 years now and I decided I wanted to check out some other distro’s and opensuse was my first choice~
I’ve had webcam problems with Ubuntu before but those were easily solved, this one has me hella confused. Cheese, skype etc acts as if I don’t have a cam at all whatsoever. I checked the install/remove program things and I found SOME webcam drivers but not the one that’s compatible with mine.

wxCam works perfectly but both skype and cheese still doesn’t find anything for my cam. I assume wxCam working means my drivers ARE installed though, right?
Flash isn’t working either. Like… userplane/tinychat, etc. I set them to allow under the flash settings or whatever, mer.
Is there anyway to tell if this is a 64-bit problem or is something about my cam/opensuse?
It is much the same with me though I have a Philips camera. And I had the same, more or less, problem when I ran 32bit. All kernels from version 2.6.28xx, if I remember correctly, is shipped with built in drivers for webcams.
The link I gave you should help in trying to fix skype though, it is a common skype/linux video problem.
