Web bloat... Forums, Support, Community, Blogs, Wiki, IRC's

It used to be a pleasure to navigate through OpenSuSE’s web presence. It has now become so structured, I can’t figure out where to go, and once I get there the content does not appear relevant. Not to mention the fact that many of the links, are BROKEN, or empty. Why have all these sub-topics if no-one is using them?

What is worse, I can’t find a place to vent about my frustration with the distribution.

Well, I guess that you may be looking at the wiki (you did not give
examples). It needs volunteers. Are you offering yourself? ;-))

Somebody has to do all that work…

Soapbox for that (from a forum perspective). I think you have a misunderstanding about the openSUSE Forums: This openSUSE forums are not responsible for the distribution as such. We’re just enthusiasts and volunteers who like to share information and help where we can. I don’t generally participate with ‘soapbox’ style rants -it’s a waste of time energy, but each to their own.

I understand that you’re frustrated, but without concrete examples, it’s
difficult to do anything beyond saying “you may have a point there.”

I am gratified by the response. You’ve been open about discussing the matter, and did not tell me to go find another distro… lol!

As for volunteering, I may take you up on that… but first I have to decide whether I am staying with ClosedSuSESystemD or not. That is a different discussion in a different forum. >:)

Thanks again.

Well, if there are problems, it makes sense to understand them and at
least see what can be done. But we can only do that if we have
specific things to look at.

But you’re welcome - in both senses.
