that indicates that an nvida driver supporting explicit sync could arrive in mid May.
It requires support both in compositor and Xwayland and as of now only Weston implements it.
Mesa has Vulkan support for this merged.
Mutter has this merged.
XWayland has this merged.
KWin is on the way.
I’d say the future is sound.
