Warning: Cannot open ConsoleKit session

I am currently running Suse 11.3. I continue to get the following
error when logging into the KDE login manager with my user account

“Warning: Cannot open ConsoleKit session: Unable to open session. The name
org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit was not provided by any .service files.”

After acknowledging the error, it resets back to the login manager
screen. If I login with root, I get the same message, but it
continues on and logins into the session

Any ideas, would be greatly appreciated.

The only thing I can think of is: “rpm -qa | grep -i consolekit”, see if it
returns something.

Dear Carlos,

I am sending the following command to display

linux-3hu6:~ # rpm -qa | grep -i consolekit
ConsoleKit-0.4.1-6.1.i586
ConsoleKit-x11-0.4.1-6.1.i586

 Hope you can help.

 Obrigado !

If you have a habit of logging into a GUI as root all sorts of problems are possible.

In your home directory see if you still own all the files. If ownership has changes to root change it back to you.

dear,

No root access normally. I have a User carlos. The directory / home /carlos there is normally access it as root. Login User carlos me when in text mode message accuses of direotio /home/ carlos does not exist.

I’m sorry, but I can’t understand this paragraph. I’m guessing you are
using an automated, machine, translator.
