I have installed fortune, but it could able to display the fortune in the terminal only.
I dont have anything like fish aplet like in Fedora 5.
how to go abt it?

i have no idea what the “fish applet in Fedora 5” is like…can you
explain what it does?..can you tell me the name of its executable?
most likely it will run easily on openSUSE…you just need to know
what rpm to fetch…
WAIT: maybe it is available in your YaST also, just search for “fish”
(Friendly Interactive Shell)…after install it will be in your menu
(go System > Terminal > Interactive Shell)…or you just hold down Alt
and hit F2, then type fish and enter
