Wallpapers for Multiple Desktops in KDE4 openSUSE 11.1

Hi, where I am it’s now the 18th December so I’ve got openSUSE 11.1 and
have installed KDE4 Desktop. My question is how to get different
wallpapers/backgrounds for the various multiple desktops (AKA the
“pager” ?). I can change the background by doing R-click on a desktop
→ Desktop Settings → Wallpaper → Picture → and select a
different background. But that changes all desktops. How do I make it
different for different desktops as was available in KDE3?

I’m 11.0 with beta 4.2 kde4 and you still cannot do this mate. Sucks a
bit doesn’t it.

Well it will be a better D.E. than 3, so we wait on the bells and
whistles a bit longer – no matter.

KDE 4.1.3 is pretty good, but absenсe of this
feature prevents me from switching:
when all desktops have one wallpaper
I just can’t tell one from another.
Though, maybe it’s just a matter of habit.

I used to have separate wall papers for each desktop (in kde3) but I
stopped, when I realized my old PCs could not really afford the extra
memory (and time to re-display the desktop) this took. By going back to
1 wall paper for all 4 desktops I had a very slight, but noticeable,
speed improvement (on my old PCs).
