On my 10.3 desktop I had a wallpaper of a tower submerged in what appears to be a lake. It came with the distro. Is it a real scene? What and where is it?
You mean this one?
Reschensee / Lago di Resia (Italy) on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Yes, that’s probably it, though the wallpaper was from a different viewpoint. Thanks, that’s cleared up a little mystery for me.
Anybody know its path in the 10.3 filesystem? I’d like to have it back.

Found it in Lake Geneva!
OK I stop kidding around. Do you mean the lake with a church in the openSUSE 11.,0 fiolesystem at
file:///usr/share/wallpapers/stelvio.jpg
Paste that address into your browser to check
Heh heh, they sure drank the pub dry and then p*ssed outside.
Thanks, I found it on my 10.3 backup filesystem, but not in any 11.0 package. Can you please do
rpm -qf /usr/share/wallpapers/stelvio.jpg
just to satisfy my curiosity. No hurry, I’ve copied it from my 10.3 filesystem anyway.
Interesting that a search on stelvio.jpg turns up a picture of a mountain pass with a incredibly tortuous road.
john@suse110:~> rpm -qf /usr/share/wallpapers/stelvio.jpg
kdebase3-3.5.9-65.2
Ah, ok, I didn’t install KDE3.

hmmm…i just looked for it, but doesn’t appear as a default install with KDE3…
that is, it is not offered via Personal Settings Configure Desktop > Appearance
& Themes > Background
or, was it a screen saver?
maybe it was offered in Gnome…
