VPN recommendation

I am a near-newbie Linux user who is wondering what are your recommendations for an openSUSE-compatible VPN. I run openSUSE 15.2 Leap with KDE Plasma 5.18.6 on a 64-bit Dell Optiplex 390 3.30GHz processor with 8GB RAM. If this is the wrong forum to raise this issue, would someone please tell me where to do so? Many thanks.

Hi!

What is your use case? I run openVPN and WireGuard site-to-site and WireGuard on TW/Leap15.2 to connect to certain clients on remote LANs.

The easiest to set up was WireGuard, but the net is full of wrong HowTo’s, so you need a little bit of playing arround and wrap your head arround the basic concept that WireGuard is just another network interface on your machine…

I have used IPsec and openVPN but I find by far the easiest to use is Wiregurad once you have the basic concepts sorted and it sorts out the routing and handles reconnections etc.

I will not write specific names, because each VPN with its own shortcomings. I think you need to try a few to find the right one for you. Especially when you consider that they differ in function. I was looking for the right service in my time in this article. There are comparisons of different versions of VPN services - free, paid, for torrents, games, broadcasts and even Netflix (and other streaming servers). Btw i have used Nord but i didn’t like it.
