Does anyone know of a commercial program that will run on openSUSE?
I need something that is fairly user friendly, identifies individual voices, and does not require Wine. The machine is to be completely controlled by voice and would be programmed to issue vocals in response to vocal requests for what is in the various databases and I/O software, such as motion control and other sensor subsystems. In other words, a program that lends itself to AI robotics.
I do not have the time to develop CMSphinx, and I am willing to pay. I have been on a few sites but they are cryptic as far as the technicals, which I do not fully understand anyway.
I understand extensive programming will still be necessary. I simply need one that will integrate as painlessly as is resonable.
Yes I went there. Also on Google some of the listings run only at certain times of the day. So I went through the routine and found someone who did it. It is far from click and run, however. And there are so many choices as to which way to go with this technology, it is mind boggling in itself.

If you find something that works, it would be interesting if you can report
here what you found.
I can not recommend anything, as what I know is obsolete.

I am unable to install Perlbox because I do not know what I am doing. The readme is written for someone who has experience in manually installing programs in Linux.
I had already installed Sphinx before I started all this but it shows as orphaned at the moment. It may be in the wrong place or has to be linked somehow with the rest of these packages. What the hell, here is the part of the readme I do not understand:
"README FOR PERLBOX VOICE
***NOTE
Perlbox Voice assumes that perl is installed in /usr/bin/perl,
Check bye typing ‘which perl’ at the prompt.
If perl is not installed in /usr/bin/perl, you can link it there. For instance,
if ‘which perl’ returns /usr/local/bin/perl, you can link it to
/usr/bin/perl by typing ‘ln -s /usr/local/bin/perl /usr/bin/perl’ as root at the prompt.
Quick Install Steps
Untar and cd into this directory (Did you do that yet???)
Make sure X is running
and accessible, then run installer with:
./perlbox-voice.install
The rest should be easy."
Perl is where it supposed to be in /usr/bin, but I do not understand where the untarred files should go. I cannot even navigate to where they are now in Documents with Term so I can run the install file. Term says no such file or directory and sometimes it says perlbox-voice-0.09 is a directory. The install file is in the untarred folder.
