voice chat of yahoo for kde4?

hi guys,

i’m using kde4 on opensuse12.2. i don’t have webcam, so i need voice chat feature of yahoo messenger. i’m using kopete but it doesn’t support voice chat. so any suggestion for that problem?

thanks for your helps!

There is one called empathy but I could not tell you more because I have not use it.

Empathy is the Telepathy for GNOME, I tried Telepathy for KDE, but it also does not support.

Thanks anyway!

I do not use it but I think gyachi (packman repository) is made for this.

PC: oS 12.2 x86_64 | i7-2600@3.40GHz | 16GB | KDE 4.8.5 | GeForce GT 420
ThinkPad E320: oS 12.2 x86_64 | i3@2.30GHz | 8GB | KDE 4.9.3 | HD 3000
eCAFE 800: oS 11.4 i586 | AMD Geode LX 800@500MHz | 512MB | lamp server

I installed gyachi, but seem that it’s crashed. after open gyachi for about seconds, it just closed automatically :frowning:

Can you run it in a terminal so that you can see what it outputs and
post that here? Maybe it is something easy to solve if you have a bit of
luck.

PC: oS 12.2 x86_64 | i7-2600@3.40GHz | 16GB | KDE 4.8.5 | GeForce GT 420

eCAFE 800: oS 11.4 i586 | AMD Geode LX 800@500MHz | 512MB | lamp server

below is what i got:

(gyachi:2689): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_text_buffer_emit_insert: assertion `g_utf8_validate (text, len, NULL)’ failed
gyachi: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/gyachi/plugins/libgyachilibnotify.so: undefined symbol: notify_notification_new_with_status_icon

so how can i fix this?
thanks!

From what I see this file belongs to gyachi-plugin-libnotify, so as a
test I would unistall this plugin and check if gyachi runs without it

su -
zypper rm gyachi-plugin-libnotify

Btw are you running the 32 bit version of openSUSE?

thanks it worked. but my friend still cannot call the voice chat for me :frowning:

btw, yes i use 32bit version.

thanks anyway!

Did you try Kopete? When trying to create a new account, one has to pick an account type from a list. In that list, I see “Yahoo Messenger IM and video conversation”

i’m using kopete. it does support webcam, but not voice chat
