VNC ... my next victim

Hi all

Next thing on my list (Things to figure out) is to get VNC working between my XP and 10.3 machine. I use RealVNC on my XP machine and I can connect to the 10.3 machine, however, it is terribly slow (internal lan connection, should be quick). What I have gathered so far is that when you VNC into 10.3, it actually does not “take control” of that machine but merely opens a second “profile”. Is there no way of just taking over/control of system as is (current profile)?

If I want to connect from my 10.3 machine to XP, what application do I use? I found something called Avahi VNC Server Browser, which seems to search for VNC servers when you open it, but it never sees anything. When searching VNC in Yast, it shows tightVNC and xorg-x11-xvnc installed, but I can’t find anything in the menus that correspond.

Any help, greatly appreciated.

Cheers.
