VNC crashes at login

Hi all, when I try to VNC to my system it gets to the login screen for a second and then crashes. The firewall port 5901 is open and I have tried to reinstall the OS.

I have another system running SuSE and VNC works fine on it.

I have found

which says resolved but I dont see a solution.

no help here either

Hi
As indicated the client is buggy? Never used vnc since NX has been
out, just change the ssh port and use that more secure and faster over
a network.

thanks for your assistance. I will try NX but I use RealVNC for my other systems and at the office.

NX is nice (and free :)), it just takes time to setup which is not an issue for just a few systems, so for home it works.

I can also look past the fact that I cannot login as root.

Encryption is a +.

But I cannot help to think that VNC should work.:disapointed:

I decided to give 11.2 rc2 a try. It too has issues, it does not crash it just gives me a black screen.

VNC enable gui on this OS will not let you open the firewall port either. You have to do it through the firewall gui.
