Yes… it is possible that some devices that won’t work with Linux will
work under a Windows guest running under VMware on a Linux host.

I have a P-Touch label printer (for example) which requires drivers
that are only in Windows. It works fine from a virtualized Windows
XP.

However, in general, the answer is “no”… only because there are
a LOT of piecs of hardware that connect via USB, and USB pass
through sometimes isn’t available. I hear that newer versions
of VMware might be better though… so it “might” work.

Tank you!!!

I have trouble compiling vmon. It says that I have gcc 4.3 and that kernel was compiled with 4.3.1. and default option is [no] (to compile module).
When I say yes, it gives error in make.

My kernel (and source) is 2.6.25.18-0.2-pae (downloaded/updated from yast)
gcc is latest (from yast)

any help?
